Various uses of cement

Cement is mostly used construction material. Cement is nearly used in all construction operations. Following are the various uses of cement –

1. Cement is used for plastering, masonry etc
2. Some special types of cements are also used for white washing and painting.
3. Cement when mixed with required amount of aggregates and water forms cement concrete which is used for laying DPC roofs, constructing pillars, beams, stairs, flooring, lintels, foundations etc.
4. All the important engineering projects like construction of dams, bridges, tunnels, barrages, canals, weirs, storage reservoirs, docks etc.
5. It is used in construction of roads, wells, septic tanks, water tanks, oil tanks etc.
6. It is used in making drains, sewers etc.
7. It is used in construction of water tight floors, plinth, cycle paths, foot paths etc.
8. It is used for manufacturing of precast concrete slabs, concrete blocks, pipes, foundation, flower pots etc.
9. It is used for grouting process.
